Luggage Allowance

Baggage Handling

Your luggage allowance will vary depending on the type of cruise you have booked.  Our cruises from UK ports offer a generous 200lbs (90kgs) of luggage, allowing plenty of room for formal night suits and cocktail dresses, and all those other essential cruise holiday items.

On fly-cruises, however, your allowance will be subject to the conditions imposed by the air carrier and will vary from airline to airline. 

Full details of your luggage allowance will be provided on your booking confirmation and your flight tickets. (This is subject to change at any time.)

When joining your cruise ship in a UK port; for safety and security reasons: breakable items, valuables, jewellery, laptops & iPads/tablets and medicines should be packed in your hand luggage, not in your suitcase and kept with you at all times.

Coach Services
For safety reasons, when using one of our advertised coach services each piece of luggage must weigh less than 20kgs. Please check when booking and on receipt of your tickets.

You may well be cruising to the exotic and the tropical, so do make sure you have the right vaccinations. Check your cruise holiday booking guide. We’d suggest that you speak to your GP about 12 weeks before you leave, to ensure you have the most up-to-date information.

Make and take calls and text messages as you please on your cruise, even if we’re in the middle of the ocean. We have an advanced satellite-based roaming network on our cruise ships - out of range for normal service providers.

Use WiFi Pay-as-you-go to email friends and family, keep up to date with the news and upload your photos to make them all envious!  Use your mobile, laptop or our Internet Centre as you cruise with our on board wi-fi. Just ask at Reception for details.

Mobility & Going Ashore

Going Ashore

Your safety and wellbeing on our cruise ships is our main concern and we want you to be as comfortable as possible when leaving and getting back on board.

Some ports will require guests to go ashore by tender, i.e. with access down the steps of a gangway.  There are 25 steps from your cruise ship to the tender on all our vessels (except Braemar where there is a maximum of 7). Please ask about your particular cruise at the time of booking.

Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines warmly welcomes guests dependent on the use of a wheelchair/scooter for mobility on all vessels within our fleet. However, with the very different nature of a holiday at sea when compared to one on land we very strongly recommend you are accompanied by an able-bodied companion  who is responsible for providing any assistance that you may require both on board and ashore.

Customer Care & Lost Property

Reception, Fred. Olsen CruisesIf you have any customer service issues or items of lost property whilst on your cruise, please speak to Reception in the first instance.

However, should you have any issues which cannot be dealt with on board your cruise ships, our Customer Relations Department will be able to deal with your queries on your return. In addition, any items of lost property which are not claimed on board, will be forwarded to our UK Head Office.
