Everything you need to know
From the moment you book to the moment you’re back home, this page brings together everything you need for your 2027 fly cruise. A few details are still being finalised, and we’ll keep this page updated as soon as we have more to share.
Where will I fly from?
You’ll fly from London Gatwick or Manchester on flights reserved exclusively for Fred. Olsen guests, so your holiday begins in good company. We’ll confirm the airline and flight times as soon as they’re finalised, and we’ll be in touch to let you know.
Where will I join Balmoral?
In 2027, Balmoral will sail from three Mediterranean ports: Alicante, Piraeus (for Athens) and Malaga. Flying out to meet her means you’ll be on board and exploring the Mediterranean from day one.
What’s included in my fly-cruise?
Your fly cruise includes everything that comes with every Fred. Olsen cruise, plus:
- Return flights, shared only with fellow Fred. Olsen guests
- A member of our team with you from your UK airport to Balmoral – on the flight and at your arrival airport – and the same again on your journey home
- Return transfers between the airport and the ship
- Hold and hand luggage for each guest
Do I need a travel authorisation for Europe?
The EU plans to introduce ETIAS, a travel authorisation for visitors from outside the EU, including UK passport holders. It isn’t in place yet and no start date has been confirmed, so there’s nothing you need to do for now.
When it launches, you’ll apply online before you travel. The fee is expected to be €20, with guests aged 70 and over and under 18 exempt. Once approved, it will be valid for up to three years, or until your passport expires if that’s sooner. We’ll share more as soon as the details are confirmed. [Read our ETIAS guide]
