Getxo is your gateway to Bilbao, where you can hop on the metro (the juorney takes about 30 minutes) and explore the iconic Guggenheim Museum or stroll through the narrow streets of the Casco Viejo, pausing at lively pintxos bars. Venture further to the renowned Rioja wine region to visit a local winery and enjoy tastings.
In Getxo itself, the striking Vizcaya Bridge spanning the River Nervión is well worth a visit, as is the nearby Basque town of San Sebastián, with its beaches and gastronomy.
