One of the benefits of cruising to the Norwegian Fjords aboard Balmoral, our smaller-sized cruise ship, is that you’re able to sail along and into some of Norway’s most picturesque fjords. Join us on deck as we sail along picturesque Nordfjord to the magnificent Jostedalsbreen, Europe’s largest inland glacier, where the surrounding landscapes are rugged and untamed, and isolated villages are delicately placed within the valleys and mountains. The sheer cliffs of Lysefjord will lead you to Preikestolen – Pulpit Rock, a vast flat mountain plateau; and Kjeragbolten, where a giant rock is wedged between a crevice on Mount Kjerag. Meanwhile, Europe's highest sea cliff, Hornelen, adds to the allure of Norway's natural wonders, offering panoramic views of the surrounding fjord landscape.

Friluftsliv, the Norwegian concept of outdoor living, embodies a holistic approach to outdoor recreation, nurturing both the body and soul by engaging in activities in the open air. Join us on a hike to the magnificent Briksdal Glacier, where the startling blue of the ice can be clearly seen, as you journey to a viewing point that offers spectacular views from across a glacial lake. From Olden, enjoy a relaxing kayaking trip on the calm waters of Nordfjord in the shadow of steep mountains and cascading waterfalls, embark on a relaxing eco-friendly journey of the surrounding countryside aboard an E-Bike, or experience an exhilarating RIB boat ride to catch your own crayfish. You will be joined on this cruise by Jeanette Yule, who originally lived in Stavanger, and will talk about the culture and way of life in Norway.

On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.
Our single guests feel right at home on board our ships; Fred. Olsen have the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat.
Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
