Bolette

Your cruise at a glance

Hand-crafted highlights

Our Journey Planners have created this one-of-a-kind voyage so that you can sail in the footsteps of notable historical explorers and follow a course akin to Magellan's first recorded world circumnavigation. You'll have the opportunity to see some of the world's most breathtaking vistas and visit iconic sites such as Sydney's Harbour and Opera House, Easter Island's mysterious Moai statues, and discover some lesser-known gems like Robinson Crusoe Island. Experience the rhythmic pulses of the Samba in Rio de Janeiro and the Argentine Tango in Buenos Aires; witness Magellanic Penguins in their natural habitat; and wonder at the breathtaking vistas of the Chilean Fjords as Bolette navigates through its glacial seascapes before the paradise islands of Tahiti await. Immerse yourself in Tonga’s cultural heritage, and in Nuku Alofa, you can visit the exact spot where the British explorer, Captain James Cook, first landed.

Your time spent on board Bolette is 58 nights, but please allow for your return flight from Sydney to the UK.

Highlights

Discover the paradise islands of the Pacific

The islands of the Pacific are said to be some of the most visually outstanding in the world. Paradise islands of white sand beaches and turquoise seas are conjured up, but there is so much more than this, with secret lagoons that are home to a wide range of marine life, lush green hills, and volcanic mountains that overlook the archipelagos. There will be opportunities to discover the inspiration for Paul Gaugin's work in Papeete, as he enjoyed the waters here, go in search of stingrays in Bora-Bora, or discover the history of the HMS Bounty as you cruise past Pitcairn Island. Before arriving in Sydney, Bolette will visit Nuku' Alofa in Tonga, where you can stand in the same spot that Captain Cook did when he made landfall in 1777 or wander along its bustling main street and waterfront area, experiencing breathtaking vistas over the bay to neighbouring coral islands.

Samba dancers at the Rio Carnival, Brazil

Experience South America's passionate rhythms

As Bolette arrives in Rio de Janeiro, you'll be consumed by its world-famous sights, including Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado, but amidst your explorations, you could enjoy the rhythmic beats of Samba music and dance at Samba City, home to the top samba schools and where the famous carnival floats are produced. Immerse yourself in this foot-tapping dance with a group of talented Samba dancers who will teach you the art of the traditional Brazilian dance. If this has left you wishing for more, then Buenos Aires is the place to experience the passionate and fiery Argentinian Tango, accompanied by a live orchestra, and learn a few signature steps of your own. You can also embrace South American cultures by sampling flavoursome dishes like empanadas, tamales, or rich Argentinian steak.
