Land of Fire & Ice
Iceland is a land of enticing volcanic landscapes, spouting geysers, thundering waterfalls and striking glaciers. The ethereal beauty of Goðafoss Waterfall, "Waterfall of the Gods", is enhanced by its stature in the mythical roots of the country. Other waterfalls of note are the two-tiered Gullfoss Waterfall, which can be witnessed on the Golden Circle tour, along with Þingvellir National Park, and the Geysir geothermal area; Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, which can be fully encircled as it tumbles down the steep cliff face; and Dynjandi, first in a series of seven waterfalls and magnificent to observe. Strokkur geyser must be witnessed, as it spouts water high into the air; and do join us to explore the frozen world of Langjökull glacier, ice caves buried under ice and snow, whose shapes and colours are constantly changing as the glacier constantly moves.

Go in search of whales and puffins
This cruise aboard Bolette has been designed for you to experience marine and birdlife at the very best time of year in Iceland before the whales and puffins head south after the summer. The nutrient-rich waters of Akureyri are renowned for being a prime feeding region for humpback and minke whales. Atlantic puffins breed here, distinguishable by their colourful beaks, and can be seen on tour from Reykjavik; along with other bird species including fulmars, cormorants and black guillemots.

Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
