Bolette

Your cruise at a glance

Hand-crafted highlights

In just nine nights, Bolette will present you with Iceland’s incredible scenery, including volcanic landscapes and geothermal areas, as well as plenty of wildlife and culture. You can learn about Iceland’s belief in elves and their part in national folklore, especially as you cruise by Borgarfjörður Eystri, thought to be home to these mythical creatures. Wildlife charity ORCA will be on board to help you search for marine life from your ship; and experts from Go Stargazing will also be on hand to provide informal - and informative - sessions out on deck to look for planets in the night sky. There’s also the chance to take a whale-watching tour from Akureyri. Wonders of nature await at every turn, from the Strokkur Geysir and Goðafoss Waterfall to Eyjafjörður – Iceland’s longest fjord, and the sheer cliff of Hornbjarg – seen during sunset.

Highlights

Geysirs, Iceland

Iceland's Volcanic Vistas

Your cruise to Iceland has been crafted by our planners to showcase the contrasting volcanic landscapes of geysers, waterfalls, glaciers and fjords. One of the main attractions on the Golden Circle tour is the highly active Strokkur Geyser, which erupts maginifcently every few moments. As Balmoral docks in Reykjavik, join us on a tour to the mighty Godafoss Waterfall, known as the "Waterfall of the Gods"; and from Ísafjörður visit the spectacular Dynjandi Falls and witness it cascading down the mountainside. Balmoral will also sail into the serene waters of Seydisfjordur, Isafjordur and Eyjafjordur. Geologist Glynda Easterbrook will be on board with you, speaking about Iceland's geysers, volcanoes and waterfalls.

Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Discover Icelandic Traditions

Embrace Icelandic traditions as you sail around the spectacular volcanic landscapes aboard Bolette and enjoy the wellness activity of relaxing in the mineral-rich geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon, from Reykjavik; or from Ísafjörður, sample freshly made sushi at the town's fish store. Encounter the friendly people of Iceland who will tell you stories of trolls and elves and their significance in national folklore; or connect with nature by hiking or going horseback riding.

Humpback whale fluking tail

Whales, Dolphins & Seabirds

This cruise has been timed for you to visit Iceland when whales are in the country's northern waters. The waters around the fjord and coastline of Akureyri offer one of the best feeding grounds in the world for cetaceans, particularly humpback whales, so do join us on a tour with your own guide who will talk you through the species you may see. Wildlife charity ORCA will also accompany you on this cruise, to assist you with spotting ocean wildlife from the decks of Bolette.
