This itinerary has been designed to allow you to explore scenic Greek islands. Balmoral will sail past the stunning Zakynthos coastline, renowned for its pristine beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, while our call into Santorini will allow you to explore the picturesque island and its whitewashed domed houses that are located in steep, cliffside villages and overlook the Santorini Caldera. From Argostoli, you can explore Kefalonia’s breathtaking landscapes, and Agios Nikolaos is your gateway to the rugged terrain of Crete, with its soaring mountains, verdant valleys, rugged gorges and stunning coastlines.
Experience the Greek Way of Life
We have hand-selected the destinations on this itinerary to provide plenty of opportunity to experience the Greek way of life. Sample Kalamata Olives and indulge in traditional Greek dishes such as moussaka and souvlaki and a local taverna. You can also savour Assyrtiko, a crisp, white wine shaped by volcanic terroir offering a distinct, refreshing taste. You can sample the local culture too, with a performance of Pentozali, a traditional Cretan dance that holds deep cultural significance and is characterised by its lively and energetic movements.
Uncover Ancient Greek History
Ancient Greece was renowned for its contribution to art, philosophy, politics, literature and science and made groundbreaking advances in mathematics, astronomy, and medicine. It was also famous for its Greek Mythology, a rich tapestry of stories, legends and myths, exploring themes of love, betrayal, heroism, and the struggle between gods and mortals. From Piraeus, the ancient city of Athens and its archaeological sites can be reached, such as The Acropolis and Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus and Ancient Agora, while the Palace of Knossos, an ancient Minona palace near Heraklion, can be reached from Agios Nikolaos.

UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays and will be advised at the time of booking. Your cruise booking information will also detail any requirements applicable to your holiday.
On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.

Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
