Experience the sun-kissed Canaries in winter
The beautiful landscapes of the Canary Islands offer a perfect escape during the winter months, where you can relax in balmy year-round sunshine. In Tenerife, La Palma, and Fuerteventura, cerulean seas lap against golden sands as you stroll along promenades lined with palm trees, their fronds swaying gently in the breeze, creating the perfect air of relaxation and rejuvenation, while Funchal offers lush, green landscapes to explore with its botanical gardens full of the heady scent of exotic plants and levada trails through forests and along rocky hillsides.
Warmth and way of life
Throughout your cruise, you will have plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the local way of life in the Canaries, Madeira and Morocco. Considered by the Portuguese to be a 'little slice of heaven', the mouth-wateringly good flaky pastry and rich custard filling of a Pastéis de Nata will leave you wanting more than one, while Tenerife is renowned for its spicy Mojo sauce drizzled over papas arrugadas (wrinkly potatoes), while in Tangier, enjoy deliciously fresh sardines, simply grilled over charcoal, as you experience the cafe culture here. There will also be opportunities to listen to the Fado music of Madeira, which features soulful melodies and tells stories of Portuguese longing and lost loves, as well as the lively Bailinho folk dance, which represents community spirit and joy.
Verdant Volcanic Vistas
The Canary Islands and Madeira offer a diverse range of landscapes that have been shaped by volcanic activity over thousands of years, blending natural landscapes with distinctive geological features. Surrounded by lunar-like scenery, Mount Teide in Tenerife offers fantastic panoramic views across the island. Meanwhile, in Madeira, discover the walking trails (levadas that span verdant valleys, offering hiking trails through deep forests and little villages. Fuerteventura is home to the unique Dunes of Corralejo, which create a desert-like landscape that stretches to the turquoise Atlantic Ocean, and are best explored by foot.

Dave Eagle - Go Stargazing
Go Stargazing is formed of a group of astronomers, all of whom are keen to encourage public interest in astronomy to as wide an audience as possible. On your cruise, expect to find them out on the top deck in the evenings conducting stargazing sessions.
Glynda Easterbrook
A Fellow of the Geological Society and an Earth Scientist, Glynda will be on board speaking on a range of topics which relate to the natural world in the destinations we will be visiting.
Janette Merilion
Janette is an international horticulturist speaker and historian with a successful garden design business. She will be joining us to deliver a series of talks including flowers native to the Islands of Madeira.

On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.
Our single guests feel right at home on board our ships; Fred. Olsen have the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat.
Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
