Grand Voyage Cruise
Sail deeper. One part of the world, explored slowly and in full, aboard one of our smaller ships.
Our Grand Voyages
Explore our collection of grand yoyages below. Each one is a long, in-depth and special journey, sailing aboard one of our smaller ships.
Exploration of the Mediterranean
In September 2026, Balmoral sets sails on an epic Mediterranean grand voyage, calling at iconic cities like Istanbul, Athens and Valletta alongside the lesser-known ports of Marmaris and Syros, and with extended stays in Limassol and Crete. Along the way you'll enjoy scenic cruising through the Bay of Kotor, the Amalfi Coast and the Strait of Messina – a journey that brings together the history, coastlines and culture of the region in one unhurried voyage.

Why choose a grand voyage with Fred. Olsen
Hand-crafted itineraries, not mass-produced
Our grand voyages are shaped by people who know these waters, not by a template.[ReadMoreMob] Itineraries are built around longer stays and scenic cruising, so you reach those iconic ports and hidden gems, with time to explore each one at a pace that suits you.
Smaller ships that reach further
The joy of the journey
On a grand voyage, the days at sea matter as much as the days ashore.[ReadMoreMob] Enrichment talks bring each destination to life before you arrive, while live music, dance classes, swimming pools and quiet corners with a good book fill the time between ports. The journey is never simply the gap between two places – it is part of the holiday.
Warm, friendly service from the first port to the last
Our crew remember your name and your usual order.[ReadMoreMob] Service on board is sincere rather than scripted, and over a long voyage that warmth becomes one of the journey's greatest pleasures – the reason so many of our guests sail with us again and again.

Prefer a shorter journey? Join a sector by fly-cruise
A grand voyage is a long journey, and not everyone has several weeks to give to one. If the full itinerary is more time than you'd like, you needn't miss out – many of our longer voyages can be joined by sector, so you sail only the part that appeals to you most.
With our fly-cruise options, you fly out to join your ship at a port along the route and fly home from another, taking in your chosen stretch of the journey without committing to the whole voyage. It's a flexible way to reach the destinations you most want to see, at a length that suits you, with the same smaller ships, warm welcome and hand-crafted itinerary throughout.
Grand voyage questions, answered
What's the difference between a grand voyage and a world cruise?
A world cruise is a single continuous journey that sails around the world, calling at ports across several continents before returning home. A grand voyage is a long, in-depth cruise that explores one part of the world more deeply, without circling the globe. Both are hand-crafted for guests who love to travel slowly and immerse themselves in each place – the difference is simply how far you sail. You can explore our world cruises on their own page.
How long is a grand voyage?
A grand voyage is one of our longer cruises, usually lasting several weeks rather than the months of a full world cruise. The exact length depends on the region and the itinerary – you'll find the duration of each voyage on its individual cruise page above.
How much is a grand voyage?
The price of a grand voyage depends on the ship, the cabin you choose and the length of the itinerary. You'll find a from-price for each voyage on its cruise page above. Because so much is already included – full board dining, selected drinks, gratuities and more – the fare covers a great deal of your journey from the moment you book.
Can I sail a grand voyage on my own?
Our single guests feel very much at home on board. Fred. Olsen has long held the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat, and our grand voyages offer a range of single cabins. Over a longer journey, the warm atmosphere of a smaller ship makes it easy to fall into good company.
Which ship sails your grand voyages?
Our September 2026 Mediterranean grand voyage is sailed aboard Balmoral, one of our smaller ships. Each grand voyage shows its ship on the cruise page above, so you can read more about her before you book.
What's the difference between Freedom and Saver fares?
On selected sailings we offer two types of fare: Freedom and Saver. Freedom Fares include extras such as selected drinks with lunch and dinner, gratuities and a shuttle service in ports over one mile from the ship. We can talk you through which fare suits you best when you book.
