With visits to Stornoway and Portree, you can experience Outer Hebridean traditions such as witnessing daily life as a crofter or sampling a dram of whisky and listening to traditional music; while Portree is your gateway for discovering the awe-inspiring scenery of Skye, from Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls to the rocky outcrop known as the Old Man of Storr. Wildlife charity ORCA will be on board to help you search for marine life from Bolette, while you sail past the unspoilt Small Isles and the rock formations of Dutchman’s Cap and Fingal’s Cave.

Explore Rugged Hebridean Islands

Many scenic highlights await you on your Scottish Isles cruise, including the dramatic rock formations of Fingal’s Cave basalt columns on the uninhabited Island of Staffa and the bonnet-shaped Bac Mòr, also known as Dutchman’s Cap. Enjoy scenic cruise commentary provided by a local as we sail through the Small Isles, comprised of four beautiful islands: Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck, famed for their dramatic scenery, variety of wildlife and natural wonders. In Stornoway, take in the sweeping views of the rugged landscape and wild coastline of the West Coast, Meanwhile, in Portree, embark on a journey to the Trotternish Peninsula, passing the rocky outcrop of the ‘Old Man of Storr,’ before continuing to Kilt Rock, a 200ft-high cliff marked in a tartan-like pattern with a sheer waterfall tumbling to the pebbled shores below.

Immerse Yourself in the Hebridean Way of Life

 

As you cruise the scenic Scottish Isles, you will have plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the Hebridean way of island life. Guest speakers and Isle of Lewis locals, Eilidh Johnstone and her father, Martin, will be available during your cruise for ‘An Audience With: A Local’ session to speak about life on the islands and offer Gaelic language lessons. In Stornoway, you can enjoy music, singing, and stories performed by local musicians, and participate in a Gaelic song. Step inside Lews Castle to taste a dram of whisky and a selection of Scottish-themed canapes whilst listening to the traditional sounds of local musicians. Meanwhile, in Portree, you will have the opportunity to visit a croft, experience the daily working life, and visit the workshop to have a go at spinning the wool.

Discover the Seabirds & Marine Life of the Scottish Isles

Our journey planners have designed this cruise to give you the best chance of witnessing the remarkable wildlife the Scottish Isles has to offer. Ocean conservationists, ORCA will be out on deck to help you search the skies and seas for nearby wildlife, including dolphins, whales, seals and seabirds. In Portree, embark on a scenic boat trip to the Sound of Rassay to admire the craggy coastline and possibly spot seal colonies and white-tailed eagles.
