Discover the solar eclipse at sea
On Wednesday, 12th August 2026, Bolette will be perfectly placed just off the west coast of Iceland, so that you can experience the awe-inspiring phenomenon of a total solar eclipse. The moon will cover the sun for an extended period of totality here, and due to Bolette’s position within the ocean, you will be able to experience this unforgettable occurrence using specially provided glasses that will enable you to look at the sun. You will also be joined on board by experts from Go Stargazing, who will share their insights and advice about this spectacular and unique event.

Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
When you cruise with Fred. Olsen, why not let our preferred luggage handling service provider take care of your luggage? Baggex will collect them from your home before you leave, and securely deliver them directly to your cabin on board. They'll do the same on the way home, too.
