As Borealis sails away from Costa Rica, your journey will take you to see some of the world's most exciting, diverse and iconic sights. Three Hawaiian islands will offer lush landscapes formed from the volcanic rock on which the archipelago sits, and a rich cultural tapestry of native traditions and influences from acros the world. The enchanting islands of French Polynesia are a haven of coral reefs, pristine beaches and verdant forests, home to a huge variety of marine life. Auckland, known as the 'City of Sails', boasts a magnificent waterfront, framed by two harbours and overlooked by the iconic Sky Tower. It's also located close to an abundance of rainforests, and nearby vineyards providing a taste of New Zealand's finest wines. Komodo Island is home to earth's largest lizard, the Komodo Dragon - where these prehistoric-looking reptiles wander freely around the rugged terrain. After stops at mesmerising ports in India, Borealis continues on to Eurpoe via the engineering marvel of the Suez Canal, built to provide an invaluable shortcut for global maritime trade.

Cally Oldershaw
Geologist and Gemmologist Cally Oldershaw will be on hand throughout the cruise delivering a series of talks on earth science related topics.
Dr Karen Woodman
Dr Woodman has over 25 years experience as a Professor in Education and Linguistics. She will be on hand throughout the cruise delivering insights into the language and culture of Indoneisa and Australia.
James Teslow
A Rocket Scientist, James holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering along with two Masters and a PhD. Throughout the cruise, James will be out on deck bringing the night sky to life.
Doug Keeney
American author, historian and speaker Doug Keeney will be on hand throughout the cruise delivering a series of talks, including a focus on Pearl Harbor.
John Thomas
John Thomas graduated from the world’s earliest film school in history and worked in Hollywood for 45 years. As we explore Mumbai, he will be on hand to give yo u an insight into Bollywood’s unique art of filmmaking.
Laura MacFarlane
Laura was born and brought up in Cyprus. As we sail from Dubai to Southampton, she will joining us on board to give you an insight into what life was like growing up on the island.
Mark Nicholls
Award-winning journalist and travel writer, Mark Nicholls will be speaking about the legacy of the Portuguese in the country, the literature, the life of Dabbawalla and the secrets of the Taj Mahal.
Orca
Founded in 2001, ORCA is a group of Ocean Conservationists. Join them out on deck to search the seas for marine life.
Professor Thomas Mazour
Professor Thomas Mazour begin his career as a US Navy officer on a submarine that operated out of San Diego, California and Pearl Harbor, thus travelling the waters of our voyage. He will be providing his in-depth knowledge about Captain James Cook in series of engaging talks.
Rachel McMullan
Archaeologist Rachel McMullan worked on the Khirbat al Mudayna project in Jordan for some time. As we explore the Middle East together on this World cruise, Rachel will be delivering a series of insightful talks about Petra and archaeology.
Richard Lovelock
As we explore the World together, wildlife photographer, Richard Lovelock, will be joining us on board hosting a series of insightful talks and to help you practice your photography skills out on deck.
Robyn Ratcliff
Having travelled to Papua New Guinea frequently, Robyn Ratcliff will be delivering engaging talks on the locals' life.
Steven Mayo-Smith
Steven Mayo-Smith’s diverse international background allows him to share his deep knowledge of the myths, history and journeys that make up Aotearoa and its Pacific neighbours during his engaging talks.
Ziad Morsy
Ziad Morsy is an Egyptian maritime expert who will be delivering an engaging talk on the history and importance of the Suez Canal.

What do I pack for a cruise?
The handy checklist below has been created to assist in making sure you remember all the important things to pack for your cruise.
Are there any visa requirements I need to be aware of?
Visa and health requirements can change at any time. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you check with a professionally qualified source and comply with such requirements. UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays and will advised at the time of booking. Your cruise booking information will also detail any requirements applicable to your holiday.
What's the difference between Freedom and Saver fares?
On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.
I'm travelling alone, how will I get to meet people?
Our single guests feel right at home on board our ships; Fred. Olsen have the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat.
How do I get off the ship if we're at anchor?
Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
