Dining & Restaurants on Black Watch
Some of the most memorable experiences on any Black Watch cruise are enjoyed in the stylish and intimate dining venues on board the ship; from watching the sunrise over a hearty breakfast cooked just the way you like it, to winding down in the evening with an expertly prepared 5-course a la carte meal.
Choose to dine in the more formal Glentanar and Orchid Room restaurants, with our friendly, attentive waiters catering to your every need; or perhaps visit the Brigadoon for a delicious self-service buffet at lunch and dinner. For an extra special dining experience, book a table at the elegantly re-designed Black Watch Room and indulge with sumptuous made-to-order dishes; or take a seat at The Poolside and experience al fresco dining at its finest, with destination-themed menus accompanied by stunning scenery.

No matter where you sit in this stylish and spacious venue, you’ll dine in comfort and ample space while our friendly waiters cater to your every request.
The Orchid Room
Perfect for guests who wish to enjoy the same, delicious five-course a la carte meals on offer in The Glentanar, but in an even more intimate setting.
Located next to The Glentanar on Lounge Deck 6, The Orchid Room is much smaller than Black Watch’s main restaurant and beautifully decorated in an enchanting Oriental style. Large windows along one side of the restaurant provide stunning scenic views to enjoy while tucking into dishes prepared by our expert chefs and served with a smile by our charming waiters.
Black Watch’s welcoming self-service restaurant, replacing the former Braemar Garden Café. This venue features contemporary Scottish-themed décor and offers a less formal style of dining compared to The Glentanar and The Orchid Room, with tasty buffets and international cuisine on offer throughout your cruise.
Stop by for a lunchtime treat, or visit in the evening for a delicious dinner or late-night snack – it’s the ideal venue if you prefer to not to dine at a set time. While the style of Brigadoon is a lot more relaxed, you can still expect to find a selection of indulgent dishes, prepared to Fred. Olsen’s renowned high standards.
The Black Watch Room
This speciality dining venue can seat up to 46 guests and offers an extra special á la carte dining experience. Enjoy personal, attentive service from our friendly staff and tuck into a selection of sumptuous, made-to-order dishes from around the world, perfectly prepared by our expert chefs in the dedicated galley.
Situated by the main swimming pool area on Lounge Deck 6, The Poolside offers al fresco dining at its finest. Open in warm weather, The Poolside combines the relaxing sounds of the ocean with incredible views and fantastic food – a real feast for all the senses.
Perhaps visit for a satisfying lunch in the sunshine; or book a table for dinner and enjoy a very special themed dining experience. Relax under the moonlight or as the sun sets and treat yourself to a selection of dishes inspired by the destinations on your itinerary – a unique experience that’s not to be missed.
All rooms and Suites have tea and coffee making facilities as standard, so you can enjoy a pick-me-up first thing, and a relaxing drink at the end of the day. For those times when you’d like something more while you’re in your home-from-home at sea you can also order room service up until 11pm every day.
Continental breakfast can be ordered in advance for delivery at your preferred time, while snacks are available from 10am onwards. Should you prefer not to head to the restaurants, short lunch and dinner menus are also available. Whatever the time of day, you’ll never be hungry on a Fred. Olsen cruise.
Each day complimentary afternoon tea is served, with sandwiches, scones and cakes, along with fresh tea and coffee, always a popular choice.
On some days guests can book a very select experience: Traditional Premium Afternoon Tea. Enjoy beautiful views from the stylish Observatory Lounge, with musical accompaniment from our on board pianist and the careful attention of white-gloved waiters.
Your choice from a selection of premium teas by Taylors of Harrogate is served in porcelain teapots, along with elegant finger sandwiches, pastries and warm scones with jam and clotted cream. Such civilised indulgence – and all for only £8.95 per person*.
