Herculaneum was once the site where rich Romans had their private, most beautiful villas and luxurious properties, most of which were overlooking the sea. Like Pompeii, Herculaneum was lost from the world following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 AD, and hidden for almost 1,800 years, toady you will be able to explore the history.

Arriving in Herculanum, learn about how the area was destroyed, submerged by a boiling mudslide, which then solidified sealing and protecting the village. As a result, marble floors, mosaics, carbonised wood, paintings and even a wooden Roman bed are now all exposed for you to see. During your visit to Herculaneum, view some of these ancient properties and villas, along with Roman baths and a gymnasium. Enjoy free time to browse souvenirs prior to the return journey to the quayside and your awaiting ship.
