The Isle of Scilly boasts ideal conditions for its diverse range of exotic flowers and plants to flourish, thanks to its sub-tropical microclimate that lasts throughout the year. Tresco Abbey Gardens are a treasure trove of winding paths lined with the rare King Protea plant, the glamorous Lobster Claw with its heady scent, and other captivating tropical shrubs. The Netherlands burst into a kaleidoscope of colour in spring with its iconic and strikingly beautiful tulip fields, where the stunning Keukenhof Gardens are not to be missed. Meanwhile, Monet's house and gardens in Giverny, reached from Honfleur, serve as a living canvas to the artist and his passion for nature.
Savour the flavours of French and Dutch cuisines
French and Dutch cuisines offer a diverse and tantalising array of flavours that reflect the rich cultural tapestries of the region. In France, sample a world-class wine grown in local vineyards with creamy Brie or Camembert or alongside Moules et Frites, while in Amsterdam, be sure to try a Stroopwaffel, a deliciously thin wafter biscuit sandwiched together with syrup, or Bitterballen, deep-fried breaded meatballs, both the perfect accompaniment to a Dutch beer or two. Produced exclusively in Normandy, Calvados is an apple brandy that marries well with fresh bread and cheese, and from Borealis, you may wish to join a tour to a local distillery to see how it's processed, from orchard to oak casks to bottle.

UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays and will advised at the time of booking. Your cruise booking information will also detail any requirements applicable to your holiday.
On certain sailings we offer two types of cruise fares; Freedom and Saver Fares.
Our single guests feel right at home on board our ships; Fred. Olsen have the reputation of sailing the friendliest fleet afloat.
Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
