Booking a Cruise

What's included in the price?

Rest assured, all of the following comes as standard on every Fred. Olsen river cruise: Comfortable en suite accommodation with flat-screen TV, hairdryer, safe and individually controlled air conditioning Tempting cuisine every day throughout your cruise – with ‘early riser’ breakfast, breakfast buffet, casual lunch, five-course à la carte dinner and late-night snacks Complimentary tea & coffee station 24 hours a day Complimentary afternoon tea & coffee with sandwiches and cakes Welcome Cocktail, Welcome Dinner and Captain’s Gala Dinner Complimentary Wi-Fi Use of leisure facilities including Fitness Room and Wellness Tub Lounge music by pianist, or duo every day All local taxes and port charges (where collectable in advance) What's Not Included: Travel to/from your port or airports All drinks on board Shore Tours Gratuities (discretionary; recommended £8 per person, per night) Hairdressing, health and beauty treatments Personal laundry and dry cleaning Passports and Visa costs Holiday insurance Government levies or taxes (advised at time of travel) Guests may wish to take advantage of our Dining Drinks Upgrade package, where for just £10 per person per night, you can enjoy as much red and white house wines, European lager, bitter and branded soft drinks at lunch and dinner as you like.

Is there a charge for booking with a credit card?

In line with UK law, no surcharge will be applied to guests booking a cruise with a credit card. Please note, we currently do not accept American Express.

Do I need a passport?

All guests are required to travel with a passport. Guests' passports must be valid for at least six months after the date of return to the UK, otherwise you will need to renew your passport before you cruise.

How much will my deposit be?

A 15% deposit must be paid at the time you make your booking. Your deposit amount will be confirmed by your Reservations Consultant at the time of booking. If your booking is made within 91 days of cruise departure, you will be required to pay the full cruise fare at the time of booking.

When will the balance of my cruise need to be paid?

The balance of your cruise will need to be paid no later than 90 days before the departure date. If your booking is made within 91 days of departure, you will be required to pay the full cruise fare at the time of booking. Unfortunately, we cannot take additional payments online. To pay off any remaining balance on your booking you will need to call Guest Services on 01473 292 200, or contact your Travel Agent. For full details please refer to our Terms & Conditions.

Are there any visa requirements I need to be aware of?

UK passport holders will need visas for certain Fred. Olsen cruise holidays. If a visa is required for your sailing you will be advised of this at the time of booking or when the requirement arises. It is the responsibility of all non-British passport holders to ensure that they are in possession of a valid passport and, where necessary, entry visas or permits for their chosen cruise. If you are unsure as to whether you are required to obtain such documents you must contact the relevant Embassy or Consulate. Failure to comply with this request may result in refusal of carriage or the imposition of individual fines by the local immigration authorities. Passport, visa and health requirements can change at any time. It is your own responsibility to ensure that you check with a professionally qualified source and comply with such requirements. Can I find out my room number?

Yes, cabin numbers will be detailed at the time of booking when booking on a Freedom fare.

Can I get a room that sleeps 3 or more people?

Unfortunately all cabins on board Brabant are 2 berth only and do not interconnect.

When will I receive my travel documents?

Before you embark on your cruise with us, you will receive e-mails including your booking and payment confirmations, tours information as well as key information relating to your departure timings and embarkation. Be sure to provide us with your e-mail address at the time of booking and visit the My Cruises area of our website to manage your booking.
