Scenic cruising along stunning stretches of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, and visits to a collection of handsome winemaking regions, will provide a feast for the senses on this enriching adventure. With opportunities to delight in the resplendent beauty of verdant countryside and vineyards, and the flavours and history of world-famous wines, mouthwatering experiences await you during time on board and ashore.

On the Rhine, your invigorating journey begins with a short sail from Cologne to Linz, where historic squares and monuments – such as the medieval Burg Linz castle – await your discovery during your morning here. Brabant will then divert down the Moselle and sail through the sensational scenery of the Lower Moselle Valley before stopping at Bernkastel-Kues. The rolling vineyards of the Moselle’s lush valleys are famous for producing some of Europe’s finest wines, and you’ll have a chance to taste these delicious tipples at source on tour from Bernkastel, or at your pick of the town’s welcoming wine taverns. Returning to the Rhine, you’ll revel in views of the Middle Rhine Valley’s forested hills and fairytale fortresses en route to Rudesheim. With another afternoon and evening to explore ashore, you could take to the historical cobbled streets of Rudesheim, uncover interesting sites such as Hindenburg Bridge, and stop-by wineries for a glass or two of Reisling wine. Continuing onwards, a visit to Nierstein affords you opportunities to learn of the processes of wine production in the Rhine Rhessen region on another insightful tour, and visit the historic Niersteiner Glöck – the site of Germany’s oldest vineyard. Your route along the Rhine will then take you to France, for a full-flavoured day in Strasbourg. You could introduce some fabulous French wines to your palate after exploring the legendary Alsace wine route; or make the most of your time in Strasbourg to take in its many attractions, such as the exquisite Cathédrale Notre-Dame, Kammerzell House and the peaceful Petite France quarter. Finally, it’s back to Germany and beautiful Breisach – gateway to the captivating Black Forest, where you can travel through tall, evergreen forests to the home of cuckoo clocks and where the region’s iconic dessert was created. Breisach is also the starting point for tours to the Swiss city of Lucerne. Sparkling Lake Lucerne, the city’s collection of churches and towers, and Chapel Bridge are all well worth crossing the German-Swiss border for and could make for a rewarding end to your journey.
