A journey combining cultural, historical and architectural delights with the scenery of beautifully unspoilt landscapes, this is the best of the Danube packed into an epic seven-night escape. You’ll meet Brabant in Budapest and enjoy time to succumb to the Hungarian capital’s charms before setting sail; perhaps you’ll explore the ‘Buda’ side, with its castle and labyrinth, or take in ‘Pest’ and its iconic Parliament Building. In Slovakia, another enchanting capital awaits your exploration too; there are attractions aplenty to discover in Bratislava, from its medieval ruins and Gothic-style cathedral to the majestic hilltop castle.

Scenic cruising of the Wachau Valley will be an experience to cherish, gliding serenely through postcard-perfect scenes of rolling hills and world-famous vineyards en route to the colourful towns of Emmersdorf and Melk. Then there’s a visit to Passau; a walking tour is the best way to see this German gem’s towers, palaces, churches and cathedrals – including St Stephen’s Cathedral, famed for its lavish interior, ornate pipe organ and grand bells. Finally it’s back to Austria, and after revelling in the beauty of the Wachau Valley once again, you’ve ample time in Vienna to marvel at a mix of architectural styles, engage with the history on display at the many museums, or get a feel for the city’s famous classical and opera music heritage.

Built in 2006, this elegant and comfortable vessel is in keeping with the fleet of our ocean-going cruise ships. Brabant’s bright and spacious public areas and 79 well-equipped rooms and suites, spread across four decks, provide the intimate, home-from-home feel which Fred. Olsen’s guests already know and love.

Cruise ship staples such as swimming pools, a number of lounges and on-going activities are not in evidence on board, making way for a comfortable ambience and ample space in which to relax and enjoy the river cruise experience with around 150 fellow guests.
