Brabant will begin her journey in spectacular Düsseldorf, initiating a delightful exploration of Germany’s finest towns and cities, topped off with opportunities to discover more about Strasbourg and Basel, for a genuine experience of France and Switzerland. 

On arrival into Cologne, marvel at the twin-spired cathedral, long considered one of Germany’s greatest attractions, and explore the charming Old Town; before re-joining Brabant, gliding past Bonn – birthplace of Beethoven, on to Königswinter. This pretty town is surrounded by the impressive Siebengebirge Mountains, where a the Nature Reserve is a must-see – nestled amongst volcanic peaks, vineyards and beech forests, offering unforgettable views of the Rhine Valley. Experience a relaxing afternoon sailing through the Lower Moselle Valley, en route to Koblenz; before Brabant arrives in handsome Speyer, where the main attraction is the UNESCO-listed Romanesque Cathedral. Stunning Strasbourg offers the chance to discover more about the famous Cathédrale Notre-Dame, prior to Brabant arriving in Breisach – located close to the beautiful Black Forest and just across the River Rhine from Alsace, sharing their passion for delicious food and wines. Basel beckons next, with its medieval Old Town, housing a fine collection of interesting museums. After return visits to stunning Breisach, Strasbourg and Speyer; Brabant heads for Mannheim – the stop for tours to Heidelberg. This lovely town offers many interesting sites to explore, including Schloss – Germany’s largest Baroque palace, and the iconic Water Tower. 

For lovers of fine wines, Rudesheim will certainly appeal – situated at the foot of the Taunus Mountains in the southern region of the Rhine Valley, it is surrounded by huge vineyards, and is considered to be the heart of the Rhine’s famous wine industry. Sail peacefully through the Middle Rhine Valley on to Braubach, home of the unique, 700 year old Marksburg Castle, as it was one of the only fortresses not to have been destroyed here. After a short stop in Koblenz, Brabant cruises along the Lower Moselle Valley to Cochem, taking in the beautiful vineyards, castles and picturesque towns on the way. Enjoy another stop in Cologne to explore further, before your river cruises ends in Düsseldorf, a city combining fascinating history with modern architecture and culture.

Built in 2006, this elegant and comfortable vessel is in keeping with the fleet of our ocean-going cruise ships. Brabant’s bright and spacious public areas and 79 well-equipped rooms and suites, spread across four decks, provide the intimate, home-from-home feel which Fred. Olsen’s guests already know and love. Cruise ship staples such as swimming pools, a number of lounges and on-going activities are not in evidence on board, making way for a comfortable ambience and ample space in which to relax and enjoy the river cruise experience with around 150 fellow guests.
