You’ll get to choose between two Dutch delights first of all. Opt for a call into Amsterdam and you won’t be disappointed by the array attractions on offer, including Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum and of course, the red light district. Alternatively you could divert to Rotterdam and marvel at the Erasmusbrug Bridge as you glide into port, then take time to discover diverse architectural wonders, such as the modern Markthal and 1970’s Cube Houses. Then in Denmark, perhaps take in Copenhagen and all of the capital’s highlights; from the Little Mermaid Statue and vibrant Nyhavn district to the impressive Christiansborg and Amalienborg palaces and world-famous Tivoli Gardens. Or, for something a little less hectic, visit the charming Viking town of Hundested for the chance to tour to Kronborg Castle – the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet – and the city of Elsinore. Tallinn – Estonia’s fairytale-esque capital – could be your next stop, offering you the chance to explore the magnificent, UNESCO-listed medieval old town; while the island of Saaremaa – home of Kuressaare Castle and the legendary Kaali meteorite craters – is an enticing Estonian option too.

Your ship will then sail to Russia for the chance to discover the Hermitage Museum, Peterhof Palace, the elaborate Church on the Spilled Blood, the magnificent Catherine Palace and much more during an overnight stay in stunning St Petersburg. Although you won’t have two Russian ports to choose from, this is sure to be one of the highlights of your cruise. Up next is Finland, where once again you’ll decide between two incredible cities. Will you choose to visit Helsinki and take in the capital’s collection of museums, galleries and landmarks such as the unique Kamppi Chapel of Silence? Or perhaps you would prefer to direct Braemar to the undiscovered island city of Kotka to uncover enchanting parks and gardens, and visit Langinkoski Imperial Lodge – the former summer retreat of Alexander III. You’ll then make your final decision in Germany. You could visit pretty Travemünde for tours to Hanseatic Lübeck; or take in one of the country’s most photogenic destinations, Wismar. Whichever port you choose, scenic cruising of the size-restricted Kiel Canal will ensure a memorable end to your time in Germany and this very special cruise.
