Island hopping between destinations specially selected for their flora and fauna presents unmissable opportunities to witness wonderful wildlife. From chattering monkeys to colourful marine life, you can seek-out Caribbean creatures amongst the diverse landscapes and warm, crystal-clear waters of paradise.

Every stop on this incredible itinerary is a chance to enjoy once in-a-lifetime experiences, and make memories that will last forever. There’s an overnight stay in Puerto Limón, gateway to Costa Rican rainforest alive with a variety of animal and exotic plant life; on tours you could see sloths clinging to the trees and monkeys swinging between them, and hear the calls of native birds echoing through the jungle scape. Dominica is renowned for whale watching, and on a short boat ride from Roseau, there’s a chance to encounter sperm whales and acrobatic dolphins in their natural habitat. Meanwhile, Braemar’s call at Tobago is extra special; you may be lucky enough to see the first turtles of the season as they nest on the island’s glorious beaches.

The gorgeous scenes and remarkable wildlife of two of the beautiful ‘ABC’ islands – wonderlands of unspoilt landscapes and spectacular national parks – await discovery too. Bonaire is a renowned habitat for magnificent pink flamingos, while the inviting waters surrounding both Bonaire and Curacao are alive with sea birds and marine fauna, such as turtles, tuna and blue marlin, barracuda and moray eels. Ashore at Grenada, there’s an opportunity for rare – and possibly unexpected – encounters with enchanting mona monkeys. A threatened species that’s native to Western Africa, mona’s were transported to Grenada on slave ships in the 18th century, and the spice island is the only place to see them in the wild away from West African shores.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.
