Within reach on boat tours from Ísafjörður is Vigur Island, where native puffins can be observed in their beautiful natural habitat. Sailing along the north coast, Black Watch will divert into, and sail the length of, Eyjafjörður to Akureyri. Various species of sea birds are often seen resting amongst the rugged landscapes of Eyjafjörður’s mountains and islands. Once ashore in Akureyri, you could head to the glorious Godafoss, to see and hear the crashing white waters of the ‘Waterfall of the Gods’, or perhaps Lake Mývatn, a tranquil bird haven. Alternatively, opt for an experience of a lifetime by joining a whale watching tour, in search of humpback and minke whales, dolphins and porpoises. Look out for the rush of mist has the amazing creatures, swimming and living freely in their natural habitat, come up for air. Finally, on the east coast of Iceland, the sublime Seyðisfjörður is your scenic route to the town of Seyðisfjörður. Take your time to savour the magnificent surrounding scenery and admire the colourful houses here; or perhaps tour to the enchanting Skálanes Nature and Heritage Centre.
