Set sail on a short cruise to Belgium and the Netherlands aboard Boudicca and take in the delights of two beautiful, attraction-packed and culture-rich cities at the most romantic time of the year.

After embarking the ship in Dover and spending a relaxing evening at sea, you will call first into Antwerp for a memorable Valentine’s Day. Stopping overnight in Belgium’s charming second city will offer chances to sample delicious Belgian chocolates at the traditional chocolate shops and friendly cafés, indulge in some retail therapy at the fashionable designer stores, or perhaps treat yourself or your loved ones to a very special Valentine’s gift from the world-famous diamond district. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a romantic stroll around the city in the evening, taking in highlights such as the Grote Markt, neo-Gothic Central Station and the iconic Cathedral of Our Lady under moonlight. Alternatively you could choose to tour to the nearby medieval town of Ghent, home to an array of impressive Gothic monuments, a number of fantastic museums and, of course, more exquisite chocolate shops. From Antwerp it’s on to Amsterdam after enjoying an early-morning journey through the Nordzeekanaal. You’ll have a day to discover the multitude of delights dotted around the iconic Dutch capital, including the unique urban landscape of the UNESCO-listed Canal Ring, home to some of the city’s most impressive centuries-old architecture, and an abundance of fascinating museums. Anne Frank House and the Tulip Museum, where you can learn about the history of the tulip and how it became a Dutch icon, are not to be missed. To continue your romantic getaway in style, you could opt for a boat tour of the canals and take in the sights; visit the floating flower market; or even hire a bicycle and explore the city like a local.

Named after the British warrior Queen, Boudicca has built up a loyal following, combining style and space with the renowned personal Fred. Olsen service. Up to 880 guests can sail in comfort on board Boudicca, enjoying the welcoming, home-from-home ambience, ample space and fantastic restaurants, lounges, bars and facilities of a smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ship.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
