Cruising to the Baltic in early autumn, when this incredible part of the world is less crowded but no less rewarding, you’ll get to experience region’s greatest attractions with fewer tourists around. Majestic palaces, iconic cultural and artistic treasures, grandiose cathedrals and much more awaits, while there’s ample time to discover the genuine essence of each destination at your own pace too.

Before venturing into the Baltic, you’ll spend a day on Sweden rugged west coast in the welcoming city of Gothenburg. An eclectic mix of highlights jostle for your attention here; among them are Götaplatsen Square, the city’s cultural heart; the historic Haga district; and Maritiman, the world’s largest floating ship museum. The excitement will then intensify, with stunning St Petersburg waiting to welcome you to the Baltic in style. Upon arrival into this spectacular Russian jewel, you’ll gaze at glorious golden-domed delights as your smaller ship navigates the River Neva. Once docked, a leisurely walking tour is the perfect way to see star attractions, including Peterhof Palace and The Church of Our Saviour on the Spilled Blood, up-close. Stopping overnight allows plenty of time to visit the remarkable Hermitage; marvel at the jewelled eggs on display at the Fabergé Museum; and even experience the emotion of a magical evening performance at the Russian ballet too. Finally, you’ll head for home via Germany’s Kiel Canal, indulging in the peace and countryside beauty of this impressive waterway, but not before returning to Scandinavia for a visit to Copenhagen. Get set for a hearty welcome and a raft of options for discovery in the Danish capital. Capture the all-important photo of the famous Little Mermaid, and see the famous colourful townhouses of the Nyhavn waterfront district just a short distance from your ship’s gangway.
