Spending five-nights on board Bolette, and discovering the scenic highlights of two of Britain’s most beautiful isles, makes for the perfect short break. From the moment you embark in Dover, you’ll find your time away relaxing, rewarding and restful; you’ve ample opportunities to make the most of your ship’s facilities, enjoy the delicious food and fantastic entertainment, and simply enjoy the pleasures of Fred. Olsen cruising while our friendly staff take care of everything for you.

On your journey, you sail to and from Scotland, where two charming destinations await you on consecutive days. You’ll not only see the rugged landscapes of the Shetlands and Orkneys from Bolette, but get to explore them during time ashore too. RSPB Sumburgh Head, where fulmars, puffins and various other bird species live and breed amongst the sea cliffs and rugged landscapes, is a particular highlight to seek out on from Lerwick, which is also your gateway to the spectacular coastal scenes of Northmavine. In the Orkneys, a stop at Kirkwall also offers a chance to uncover historic treasures such as the UNESCO-listed Neolithic village of Skara Brae and ceremonial stone circles of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar.

Your Itinerary

  • Visit two remote Scottish Isles

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.

Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday. In fact, 97% of guests rated Fred. Olsen’s friendly, attentive staff ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.

While Bolette is one of the largest ships, by overall size, in our fleet, she still has capacity for less than 1,400 guests. So on board you’ll find you have more space in which to relax, in public areas such as the all-season pool and the beautiful two-tiered entertainment theatre, and enjoy a premium level of comfort – as well as our renowned personal service – in the elegant lounges, bars and dining venues.

With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and timeless style, and classic open deck spaces providing a place to fully immerse yourself in the magic of ocean cruising, Bolette is very much in keeping with what our guests have come to expect from a Fred. Olsen ship.
