Experience a very special exploration of Spain’s beautiful Andalusia region on this fantastic 14-night cruise aboard Braemar. From historic castles and stylish palaces to delicious cuisine and diverse culture, you’ll sample Spanish flair and flavour to the full before joining the rest of our fleet for an unforgettable Fred. Olsen celebration.

First you’ll stop in Lisbon to take in the highlights of Portugal’s charming capital, including the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery and the Centro Commercial Colombo – Iberia’s largest shopping mall – before continuing onwards to Almeria, your first Andalusian destination. This pretty city is dominated by the impressive Arab fortress of Alcazaba and boasts beautiful, uncrowded beaches and a number of superb restaurants serving delicious tapas. Up next is Malaga, a cosmopolitan city that perfectly blends the old and the new. You’ll have a full-day to discover the city’s array of diverse attractions including the ancient Moorish-style Gibralfaro Castle and the Picasso Museum, home to masterpieces by legendary artist and Malaga native Pablo Picasso. Alternatively you could tour to picturesque Ronda – one of Spain’s oldest towns – home of fascinating historic landmarks such as the Parador de Turismo and the Puento Nuevo Bridge and enjoy spectacular views of the El Tajo Gorge. In Gibraltar you can make the most of the gorgeous climate on the golden sands; ride the cable car to the top of the famous rock and encounter wild Barbary Macaques; or enjoy tax-free shopping in stores you’ll recognise from home. Returning to Andalusia, you’ll then enjoy an overnight stay in stunning Seville after sailing into the heart of the city via the scenic Guadalquivir River. The Alcázar Palace, UNESCO-listed gothic cathedral and 16th century Casa de Pilatos are among many famous sites found within the grand boulevards and squares and you have time to discover them all. Don’t miss the chance to catch a traditional Flamenco show in the evening too. Finally you’ll call into Cádiz where Braemar, Balmoral, Boudicca and Black Watch will dock together for only the second time in our history as part of our ‘Captains in Cádiz’ event, marking the 170th anniversary of Fred. Olsen's beginnings in shipping. Join our Captains, crew and your fellow guests for a memorable day of celebration and enjoy themed entertainment, food and fun on board and on the quayside – the perfect end to this very special Spanish sailing.

Elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities. Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
