Experience the very best of Sweden on this stunning journey of discovery, combining a selection of the country’s finest destinations with over 12 hours of spectacular scenic cruising along breathtaking waterways.

After just one day at sea your Swedish adventure starts in style with an unforgettable exploration of the west-coast fjords. Charming villages, lush countryside and craggy coastlines will come into view as Boudicca navigates these narrow passages, presenting incredible views to enjoy from the comfort of your ship. The following morning it’s on to the cultural, classically Swedish city of Malmö. A number of attractions await you here, including Folkets Park, Malmöhus Slott Castle, the gothic-style Sankt Petri Church and the futuristic Turning Torso – Scandinavia’s tallest building. On the island of Gotland, UNESCO-listed Visby will offer a glimpse into Sweden’s fascinating Hanseatic history. Within the wonderful Old Town – protected by some of Europe’s best preserved medieval walls – awaits a number of merchants’ houses and magnificent churches, including the unmissable St Mary’s Cathedral and the ruins of St Nicolai and St Karin. You could also embark on a tour of Gotland, taking in pretty fishing villages and delightful towns dotted along the island’s picturesque coast. [ReadMore]

Heading north, Boudicca will then sail overnight to Stockholm for an overnight stay in the vibrant capital. With two days to explore in depth, you could take your pick of the fantastic museums, including the Skansen Open-air Museum; wander around the historic Gamla Stan district at your leisure and witness the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace; and even delve into Sweden’s world-famous pop culture at ABBA: The Museum. There will also be time to take to city’s waters and see the sights from a different perspective on a relaxing boat tour; while a scenic cruise of the Stockholm Archipelago in the evening will be a simply unforgettable experience after departing the capital. Finally a call into Gothenburg – Sweden’s cultural second city – will provide a perfect end to your time in Scandinavia. Perhaps take the day to enjoy a sightseeing boat tour along the 17th century canals; stop by the Maritiman, the world’s largest floating ship museum; and venture down the busy main street, Avenyn. Älvsborg Fortress and the beautiful botanical gardens are well worth a visit too.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
