With chances to explore beautiful cities; enjoy glorious sunshine on stunning golden-sand beaches; and even experience the excitement of a Formula One Grand Prix, this incredible Mediterranean cruise can be as exhilarating or as relaxing as you wish.

Monaco hosts arguably the most exciting and iconic race in the F1 calendar and during a full-day call into nearby Nice you have the opportunity to experience the thrill of the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix on a simply unforgettable tour. Arriving early on race day morning will ensure you have plenty of time to enjoy the pre-race atmosphere before taking your seat in the stands to watch the world’s greatest drivers push themselves to the limit, racing their 200mph, multi-million pound speed machines through the streets and tunnels of the glamourous principality. If you’re a fan of motorsport, or simply have a ‘need for speed’, this is an experience that is not to be missed. [ReadMore]

Not only is this fantastic 16 night sailing a ‘speed-freaks’ dream cruise, it’s also perfect for those looking for a little sunshine and culture too. Before calling into Nice, where you could opt to stroll along the palm-fringed Promenade des Anglais and relax on the gorgeous beaches if you prefer, you’ll visit sunny St Tropez to experience the splendour of the French Riviera to the full. This glamourous resort – made famous by the jet-setters of Hollywood’s ‘golden era’ – boasts a picturesque yacht-filled harbour and a beautiful coastline. You’ll also sail to Spain to take in the historic highlights of Cartagena, including the medieval castle and the Roman amphitheatre; spend a day marvelling at the mountainous heartland of Mallorca from Palma; and discover Gaudi’s architectural wonders, including the magnificent Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona. Black Watch will also call into captivating Cádiz, situated on Spain’s spectacular Andalusian coast; while in Portugal you’ll have a day to take in the delights of the capital, Lisbon.

Black Watch is the ultimate home-from-home at sea: spacious with a friendly, familiar feel and providing a traditional cruise experience. Refurbished at the end of 2016, the 804-guest Black Watch features stylish new décor, fittings and furniture, plus the new The Poolside restaurant. What's more, new TVs, mini-bars and safes enhance the accommodation on board, while the on board cinema has been upgraded too. Despite all these new features, Black Watch still retains her sleek, intimate style and has a welcoming ambience - just like the rest of the Fred. Olsen fleet.

Rest assured, all of the following comes as standard on every Fred. Olsen cruise:

  • Comfortable rooms and suites with TV, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and individually controlled air conditioning
  • Tempting cuisine every day throughout your cruise - with five-course à la carte dinners, casual breakfast and lunch buffets and late-night snacks

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
