Thanks to Scotland’s convenient proximity to Norway, we can take you on a journey to witness the fjordland’s wonder in less than a week.[ReadMoreMob] On this five-night break, you’ll discover plenty of unforgettable sights and experiences, including scenic fjord cruising on Braemar. Your smaller ship will take you into wild Hjørundfjord and Nordfjord, to see the summertime splendour of their lush landscapes and rugged mountains, rock formations and valleys; and sail by Hornelen, bringing north Europe’s highest sea cliff into view.

There is time ashore to experience an up-close look at the fjordland’s summer beauty too. You have a chance to see and hear the creaking ice of the Briksdal Glacier and experience the uncanny tranquillity of Lovatnet Lake on tour from Olden, or even ride the Loen Skylift for panoramic views of Nordfjord. Meanwhile at Ålesund you can capture postcard-perfect fjordland views by climbing to the top of Mount Aksla or via cable car up Strandfjellet Mountain on a tour. Alternatively, see the best of UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord’s dramatic scenes on foot, or take a boat tour of Hjørundfjord.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
