In ancient Cádiz, charming old districts are yours to explore at leisure in search of majestic monuments such as the Torre Tavira watchtower and the 18th century cathedral; many of the city’s highlights are within easy reach of the port. This Andalusian gem is also the starting point for tours to Granada’s magnificent Alhambra Palace and to the picturesque mountaintop city of Ronda. In the Murcia region, Cartagena awaits your discovery. Be sure to take in the medieval castle and the Roman amphitheatre.

You’ll have a day to sample the laidback Mediterranean island lifestyle of Mallorca, where Balmoral will dock at pretty Palma, before Barcelona – Catalonia’s cosmopolitan capital – beckons. You’re sure to be captivated by this iconic city. A stroll along energetic Las Ramblas, Barcelona’s most famous street is always a memorable experience; while architectural wonders such as the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia and the many works of Gaudi, including the world-famous Sagrada Familia, present photo opportunities galore. Valencia has plenty to recommend it too. From a myriad of modern galleries, museums and contemporary architecture to a charming Old Quarter and traditional restaurants serving plentiful portions of Paella, Spain’s third largest city offers something for everyone. Finally, calls at two enchanting cities in the gorgeous Galicia region of northern Spain end your exploration. In Vigo, perhaps while away a few hours in the delightful Old Town; then, during a morning in La Coruna, take the chance to tour to the spectacular, UNESCO-listed Santiago de Compostela.
