With Black Watch as your guide you’ll see out 2018 in style and enjoy an unforgettable start to 2019 on this incredible cruise, taking in idyllic islands, historic, culture-rich cities, vast, bustling metropolises and even one of the world’s greatest and most famous New Year’s celebrations as you explore the Americas, Oceania and Asia.

In the Americas several stunning destinations await your discovery after gliding across the Atlantic via Lisbon and the floral island of Madeira. You’ll island-hop in the Caribbean for chances to discover the gorgeous beaches, historic sites and natural wonders of Antigua, Dominica, Barbados and Bonaire; then in Colombia, enjoy a rewarding day of exploration in the wonderful walled city of Cartagena de Indias, renowned for its fascinating Hispanic history. You will also experience scenic cruising of the impressive Panama Canal, dubbed the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’, and call into Puntarenas and Puerto Caldera in Costa Rica before Black Watch heads across the Pacific towards Australia. En route you will visit a string of spectacular South Pacific Islands to marvel at the volcanic landscapes of Nuku Hiva and Rangiroa; sample pure bliss on Tahiti, Bora-Bora and Tonga; and revel in the unspoilt beauty of Mystery Island. You will also enjoy a magical Christmas Day at sea.

Once in ‘the land down under’ an abundance of amazing experiences await you. An undoubted highlight of this epic voyage is an extended stay in Sydney, specially timed to coincide with the city’s world-famous New Year’s Eve celebrations, which include the iconic midnight fireworks display above the Harbour Bridge. You’ll also visit Cairns, gateway to the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef; and Darwin, from where you can take a tour to experience a taste of authentic aboriginal life. Finally the incredible diversity of Asia is yours to explore. You’re sure to be left spellbound by the contrasting sights of Komodo Island – home of the world’s largest lizards – and the energetic, attraction-packed megalopolis of Singapore; while from fabulous Phuket you can visit the iconic Phang Nga Bay and world-famous ‘James Bond Island’. Speaking of Asian icons, there are a plethora to discover in India. During a call into Kochi you could head to Kumbalangi to see the famous Chinese fishing nets; or perhaps take an overland tour to the magical Taj Mahal. You’ll also enjoy a day of delving into India’s European influences in historic Goa, before visiting bustling Mumbai. An overnight stay will afford time to take in modern and traditional highlights such as the Gateway of India and the unique Dhobi Ghat before your cruise concludes in Dubai.

Black Watch is the ultimate home-from-home at sea: spacious with a friendly, familiar feel and providing a traditional cruise experience. Refurbished at the end of 2016, the 804-guest Black Watch features stylish new décor, fittings and furniture, plus the new Black Watch Room restaurant.

What's more, new soft furnishing, smart TVs and mini-bars enhance the accommodation on board, while the cinema has been upgraded too. Despite all these new features, Black Watch still retains her sleek, intimate style and has a welcoming ambience - just like the rest of the Fred. Olsen fleet.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
