You begin your epic voyage in the Americas, embarking your ship in Costa Rica before sailing onward to experience a taste of authentic Mexican life in the bustling port city of Manzanillo – a maiden Fred. Olsen call. It’s a beach lovers paradise, with golden, sun-bathed sand stretches aplenty to choose from, while the heart of the city is a delight to explore, with its colonial architecture, busy plazas and local food and drink on offer. Then, as you start your journey across the Pacific, glorious Hawaii beckons; three of this magical US state’s islands await your discovery. You could visit the iconic wonder of Diamond Head and beautiful Hanauma Bay on Oahu, and the emotive Pearl Harbour Memorial in Honolulu; explore the historical and cultural heritage of Lahaina on gorgeous Maui; and from Hilo, discover the magnificent volcanic sites of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea.
When your ship breaks the waters of the South Pacific, the astonishing islands of French Polynesia will appear on your horizon. Paradise awaits you at a trio of idyllic destinations; Raiatea, Tahiti and Bora Bora boast spectacular volcanic landscapes and jungle-rich interiors to explore, and the beaches that frame each island are as unspoilt and postcard-perfect as your dreams have made you believe. Finally, when you reach the ‘land down under’, you’ll experience both sides of New Zealand, feeling the energy of bustling Auckland and absorbing the tranquillity of picturesque Picton and breathtaking waterways, before your once-in-a-lifetime holiday concludes in Sydney. You’ll be afforded time to take in Sydney’s world-famous attractions, including the instantly recognisable Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the revered Royal Botanic Garden; and even tour to Bondi Beach, to capture one of Australia’s most photographed scenes.

The Fred. Olsen Difference
Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.
Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday. In fact, 97% of guests rated Fred. Olsen’s friendly, attentive staff ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.
About Your Ship
Borealis, like her sister ship Bolette, has capacity for less than 1,400 guests but is larger in overall size than the other vessels in the Fred. Olsen fleet. This means when you come on board for a memorable cruise holiday, to relax and enjoy a premium level of comfort – as well as our renowned personal service – in the elegant public areas, lounges, bars and dining venues, you have even more space in which to do so.
With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and timeless style, and classic open deck spaces providing a place to fully immerse yourself in the magic of ocean cruising, Borealis is very much in keeping with what our guests have come to expect from a Fred. Olsen ship.
