Scenic Norwegian Fjords

7th May 2022 5 nights Sails from Rosyth (Edinburgh) Braemar M2212A
Lysefjord, Norway Lysefjord, Norway

All the benefits of fjordland cruising with Fred. Olsen combine on scenic sailing, to create a five-night break packed with highlights and memorable sights throughout. Sailing from Rosyth makes it possible to be within the within the fjords a day after embarkation, while we’ll take advantage of Braemar’s smaller size and our expert knowledge of Norway to show you some of the greatest views found among the landscapes and waterways of the Olsen family’s homeland.

Diverting off the regularly sailed cruise routes, Braemar will head into size-restricted fjords and present you with unforgettable views of their wonders. Marvel at the dramatic cliffs, rock formations and peaks of Fjærlandsfjord and Lysefjord, which larger ships can’t access, as well as Åkrafjord, where you’ll get to witness the tumbling Langfossen – regarded Norway’s best waterfall. See towering Hornelen – Europe’s highest sea cliff – too, and the scenery of Karmsund as your ship navigates this narrow route; and revel in the unspoilt beauty and tranquillity of Hidrasund, Strandsfjorden and Sognefjord, one of the fjordland’s longest and most spectacular waterways.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
