Sail into the fjordland in the spring and discover a picture book of spectacular sights – from the unspoilt landscapes of postcard-perfect fjords, to breathtaking waterfalls and mighty glaciers – at one of the best times of the year to experience the region’s astonishing natural beauty.

Encompassed by lush-green hills, tall mountains and beautiful waterways, vibrant Bergen will provide the perfect introduction to the fjordland as you sail into port. Ashore you’ll discover an array of attractions including the colourful wooden structures of the UNESCO-listed Bryggen Wharf; the bustling fish market; and the Troldhaugen Museum – once home of Norway's most famous composer, Edvard Grieg. Not to be missed is the chance to climb Mount Fløyen via the funicular railway, as the views from the top are sure to whet your appetite for what's to come. The following morning Boudicca stops at Flåm, where a treasure trove of simply unforgettable sights and experiences await your discovery. Perhaps you’ll opt to marvel at the awe-inspiring scenery surrounding Flåm from the Stegastein Lookout, which presents unspoilt views from 650 metres above Aurlandsfjord; or catch a ride on the iconic Flåmsbana Railway and see the cascading Kjosfossen Waterfall up-close. Boudicca will then divert into the glorious Nærøyfjord as your time in the fjords nears its conclusion. At just 250 metres wide at its narrowest point, this UNESCO-listed waterway is only accessible to smaller ships; and you’ll experience an epic journey along the full length of the fjord. Olden, the next stop on your scenic seven night adventure is situated amonst pretty meadows and babbling brooks, the perfect place for relaxing stroll. From here you can also take in stunning natural wonders such as the Briksdal Glacier – an arm of Europe’s largest inland glacier, Jostedalsbreen – and the beautiful Lovatnet Lake. Scenic cruising of the Nordfjord – one of the longest and most picturesque fjords – will ensure a memorable end to your time in the fjordland. Finally you’ll enjoy a glide along Åkrafjord and past the Langfoss Waterfall, named one of the top ten waterfalls in the world by CNN; before sailing through the Karmsund Strait, another beautiful waterway out of reach to larger ships.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
