Just as the winter weather, and the post-festive season gloom, really sets in, Bolette takes you away from rain-showered British Isles on a journey of sun-kissed Canary Island discovery. You’re in for a restful, relaxing holiday, visiting islands with volcanic landscapes begging for exploration and sandy beaches providing the perfect places to soak up the sunshine. On Tenerife, you could head for the coast to indulge yourself in a few hours of sunbathing, or perhaps opt to see the island’s volcanic interior, scale Mount Teide and take in views from Spain’s highest peak. Whatever you do, your overnight stay here will make for the perfect start to your time in the Canaries. [ReadMore]

You’ll find Gran Canaria is a haven for relaxation; the island is renowned for its year round warmth and its long stretches of glorious golden sands, such as those found at Maspalomas – one of the Canaries’ most popular escapes. You could spend some time on a laidback amble through the picturesque Agaete Valley here too. Finally, Lanzarote provides the perfect end to your Canarian adventure. Perhaps take to the peaks and lava fields of the Fire Mountains; amongst this lunar-like wonderland you'll get to feel the heat of an active volcano, and even enjoy a lunch cooked by it too, and leave your footprints in the dramatic black sands. Not far from the Canaries, there’s also a visit to the floral Portuguese island of Madeira. From Funchal you could ride the cable car to discover the floral scenes of the fragrant Monte Palace Tropical Garden and watch as people ride toboggans down the capital’s hills, or take in lush-green scenery uncovered via the unique levada trails.

While Bolette is one of the largest ships, by overall size, in our fleet, she still has capacity for less than 1,400 guests. So on board you’ll find you have more space in which to relax, in public areas such as the all-season pool and the beautiful two-tiered entertainment theatre, and enjoy a premium level of comfort – as well as our renowned personal service – in the elegant lounges, bars and dining venues.
With its warm, welcoming atmosphere and timeless style, and classic open deck spaces providing a place to fully immerse yourself in the magic of ocean cruising, Bolette is very much in keeping with what our guests have come to expect from a Fred. Olsen ship.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
