Venturing away from the beaten track, Balmoral takes you on a journey of discovery to Scottish isles famed for their historical sites and folklore. Get a feel for the Neolithic history of Orkney; Kirkwall is your gateway to sites such as UNESCO-listed Skara Brae, which pre-dates Egypt’s pyramids, the Ring of Brodgar and Stones of Steness. You can discover fascinating Norse villages in the Shetland Islands too; while a visit to Invergordon provides a chance to tour to Loch Ness, in the hope of encountering the waterway’s legendary ‘monster’.

Smaller ship Bolette also takes you to see some of the finest Scottish scenery, away from the well-sailed routes; behold the sight of Fingal’s Cave and Dutchman’s Cap, spot historic sites such as Duart Castle amongst the countryside scenes of the Sound of Mull, and see the beautiful Small Isles. What’s more, a visit to Northern Ireland’s capital is your opportunity to learn of the folklore of Finn MacCool at Giant’s Causeway, on tour from Belfast; while there’s also a stop on England’s beautiful southern shores, to explore the Jurassic Coast from Portland, Dorset.

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.

Balmoral, carrying up to 1,350 guests is small enough to navigate narrow waterways such as Kiel Canal and bring inspirational sights and experiences closer to you.

Like the rest of the fleet, Balmoral retains a warm, welcoming atmosphere and features comfortable accommodation and lounges, stylish restaurants and plenty of open-deck space.
