Taking advantage of Braemar’s compact dimensions, Fred. Olsen will bring some of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful and diverse destinations closer to you. You’ll visit culture-rich cities, the highlights of which will be within easy reach of your ship’s docking locations, and discover impressive architecture, world-famous monuments and much more.

Five enchanting Mediterranean destinations await you on this 14-night cruise in total, including the fabulous French city of Marseille. Your specially-timed call here is sure to be an undoubted highlight of your holiday, presenting you with an opportunity to take a unforgettable tour to the Luberon region of Provence – revered for its incredible natural beauty. Provence comes to life in the summer, when fragrant lavender fields burst into bloom. Opt to take the trip here, passing through quaint villages en route, and you might be lucky enough to see the fields at their resplendent best. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to stay in Marseille you won’t be disappointed. Braemar has special permission to dock at La Jolliette, so there’s plenty to discover from the moment you go ashore. Markets, boutiques and galleries are found at trendy regenerated warehouses near the port; while within the heart of the city you can uncover a smorgasbord of sights. The lively Old Port and historic quarter, overlooked by Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, and Cathédrale de la Major are well worth seeking out. [ReadMore]

In Spain, a blend of historic and modern attractions await in Malaga and Barcelona. Highlights such as the striking Moorish Alcazaba Fortress and the Picasso Museum are your rewards if you take time to explore Malaga. Granada, home to the magnificent Alhambra Palace, and sun-kissed Marbella are within reach too. During a call into Barcelona, you’re sure to be captivated by Catalonia's cosmopolitan capital. Gaudi’s iconic Sagrada Familia – which is still a work in progress, bustling Las Ramblas and the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Eulalia are not-to-be-missed here. Then there’s Menorca for a taste of Mediterranean island life; sun-soaked beaches, stunning scenery and the pretty city of Mahon make for a relaxing and rewarding day here. Your final Spanish call is Cartagena. Braemar will once again dock close to the centre of the city here, and you’ll have an afternoon to spend a few hours admiring sites such as the Roman amphitheatre and the medieval castle.

Refurbished in 2017, elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
