As you explore the Med in the spring, you’ll get to succumb to the scenic, historic and cultural charms of a collection of beautiful islands.[ReadMoreMob] Meet Braemar in Malta and take in the architectural highlights of Valletta, or perhaps tour to medieval Mdina, before departing via the UNESCO-listed Grand Harbour. Two Italian delights will then await you; discover Trapani, with its Sicilian coastline, ancient Old Town and pretty marina to explore, and Cagliari, where impressive rock formations such as the ‘Devil’s Saddle’, salt pools and inviting beaches are within reach.

On to Spanish shores, you’ll get to seek-out the highlights of Menorca, such as Monte Toro and the island’s golden beaches, or even explore countryside scenes on horseback, while you’ve a chance to look beyond the nightlife and parties Ibiza is famed for, delve into the history of its Old Town and find secluded spots off the tourist track. On the mainland, the Guadalquivir River is your picture-perfect route into Seville, where Plaza de España, the Moorish Alcázar Palace and spectacular Gothic Cathedral, are within easy reach of Braemar’s central berth. An overnight stay in Seville also affords time to not only savour a traditional flamenco performance, but be taught the dance by a local bailaora too.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
