With the busy Christmas period fast approaching, and British winter quickly taking hold, there’s no better way to escape it all and enjoy some well-earned rest, relaxation and soothing sunshine than on a voyage to – and exploration of – gorgeous Caribbean islands.

Leaving the UK’s gloomy shores behind you’ll soon forget about the cold weather back home as Braemar heads for the sun-kissed Caribbean across the Atlantic. Experiencing the magic of ocean cruising on a smaller cruise ship, and feeling the excitement build in anticipation for your Caribbean adventures, will be something to remember forever. En route, visiting Lisbon, with its rich maritime heritage and enchanting architecture, and the beautiful Portuguese island of Madeira, where sweet-scented gardens and leafy levada trails await, will whet your appetite for the sights and highlights to come.

Upon arrival in the Caribbean, stunning St Maarten provides an unforgettable welcome to the region. Glorious golden beaches, historic landmarks such as Fort Amsterdam and Fort Willem, and spectacular scenery await discovery from Philipsburg. Then there’s St Kitts, where a ride on the island’s scenic railway – taking in vistas of the ocean surf, mighty cliffs and rolling, lush-green landscapes – makes for a unmissable, and unforgettable experience; and a visit to Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe. Braemar will be the only ship in port during your time in Basse-Terre, so you’re in for a less-crowded discovery of the island’s charming capital, its thick rainforest and volcanic peaks. Vibrant Bridgetown, gateway to exploring Barbados, is where you disembark. Before flying home, perhaps take a dip in the azure waters and swim with Sea Turtles; visit the Mount Gay Rum Factory; or simply make the most of the glorious Caribbean sunshine at inviting beaches one last time.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.
