With spectacular paradise islands and a few lesser-known destinations found off the beaten track to discover, you’re in for a simply unforgettable festive season on this extraordinary exotic voyage aboard Boudicca.

This very special journey of discovery begins in Port Louis, for the chance to capture a snapshot of everyday Mauritian life. In this diverse, cultural city you could explore the lively central market, visit the interesting Stamp Museum, and marvel at religious structures such as the impressive Kaylasson Temple and beautiful Chinese Pagoda. Opt to venture further afield and you could encounter some of Mauritius’ most breathtaking natural wonders, such as the Trou-aux-Cerfs Volcano and striking ‘Seven-Coloured Earth’ sand dunes. You’ll then sail to the stunning Seychelles. Spending a full day on both Praslin Island and Mahé, there’s time to discover a number of the archipelago’s most incredible sights and experiences. Perhaps join an incredible Robinson Crusoe Adventure tour from Praslin Island in search of huge Coco de Mer nuts and Aldabra Giant Land Tortoises, one of the largest tortoise species in the world; and discover the beautiful, uninhabited island of Moyenne on a memorable catamaran cruise from Mahé. Of course you have your pick of the Seychelles’ quintessential beaches too, such as Anse Lazio and Cote d’Or. That’s all yours to enjoy before sailing by Silhouette Island at sunset – an awe-inspiring spectacle. [ReadMore]

Zanzibar’s fascinating history will be waiting for you to explore during a day-long call into this gorgeous Tanzanian island. Many of the main historic sights await you in the Stone Town area; the old fort, harrowing slave chambers, sultana market and 19th century Anglican Church are among the highlights. Alternatively, you could use your time to make the most of the glorious sunshine on the island’s sugar-like beaches and snorkel the barrier reefs; or tour to the intriguing and tranquil Prison Island. This is followed by a relaxing day on the island of Mayotte. Stroll around the charming dusty streets of Mamoudzou; or take the chance to explore the Indian Ocean’s largest lagoon, home to over 250 species of hard coral and a variety of other marine life. You could take in the lagoon's fabulous fauna and flora on board a glass bottom boat, or even go snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. Afterwards you’ll enjoy two memorable days at sea, soaking up the party atmosphere of Christmas on board with your friends, family and fellow guests as your ship’s friendly crew take care of all the food and festivities. On Boxing Day you’ll dock in Port Reunion, gateway to Reunion Island’s volcanic landscapes, dense forests and tumbling waterfalls – best seen on a hike or helicopter tour – before finally arriving back in Port Louis.

Named after the British warrior Queen, Boudicca has built up a loyal following, combining style and space with the renowned personal Fred. Olsen service. Up to 880 guests can sail in comfort on board Boudicca, enjoying the welcoming, home-from-home ambience, ample space and fantastic restaurants, lounges, bars and facilities of a smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ship.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
