Zanzibar’s fascinating history will be waiting for you to explore during a day-long call into this gorgeous Tanzanian island. Many of the main historic sights await you in the Stone Town area; the old fort, harrowing slave chambers, sultana market and 19th century Anglican Church are among the highlights. Alternatively, you could use your time to make the most of the glorious sunshine on the island’s sugar-like beaches and snorkel the barrier reefs; or tour to the intriguing and tranquil Prison Island. This is followed by a relaxing day on the island of Mayotte. Stroll around the charming dusty streets of Mamoudzou; or take the chance to explore the Indian Ocean’s largest lagoon, home to over 250 species of hard coral and a variety of other marine life. You could take in the lagoon's fabulous fauna and flora on board a glass bottom boat, or even go snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. Afterwards you’ll enjoy two memorable days at sea, soaking up the party atmosphere of Christmas on board with your friends, family and fellow guests as your ship’s friendly crew take care of all the food and festivities. On Boxing Day you’ll dock in Port Reunion, gateway to Reunion Island’s volcanic landscapes, dense forests and tumbling waterfalls – best seen on a hike or helicopter tour – before finally arriving back in Port Louis.
