The cruise at a glance
The Olsen Way Highlights
While cruising in the Arctic Ocean from the comfort of Bolette and ashore during an extended stay in Alta, you may be lucky enough to see the Aurora Borealis illuminate the night sky. Alta is also ideally placed for tours that take you into the wilderness, where you can meet local Sami communities and learn about their way of life. In Tromsø, ‘Gateway to the Arctic’, you can visit the iceberg-shaped Arctic Cathedral and capture winter panoramas from atop Mount Storsteinen. This shorter than usual sailing is possible thanks to Bolette’s speed and Newcastle’s closer proximity to Norway.Explore the Itinerary
A Husky Sledding adventure
From Alta you’ll have the unique opportunity to embark on a Husky sledding adventure and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Nordic nature. You’ll ride into the wilderness and journey through pine forests following the banks of the Alta River or Altadalen Valley. You’ll also have the chance to learn about how the Huskies are trained and prepared for Europe’s longest dog sled race.
Aurora Watch & Stargazing
As part of our 'Sky at Sea' programme, you can wrap up warm and head out on deck to search the skies for the elusive Northern Lights. Will luck be on your side? Guest speaker and astronomer Paul Fellows will lead the search, bringing the stars and planets of the night sky to life whilst you search for the Aurora Borealis.
Photographing the Northern Lights
Join guest speaker Andy Hunting and discover tricks and tips on photographing the elusive Northern Lights, just in time for our arrival into the Arctic Circle where they will hopefully make an appearance and you can try out your newly learnt skills.

How do I get off the ship if we're at anchor?
