Geothermal activity presents itself at every turn, from thundering waterfalls to spurting geysers; and you'll have the chance to take in the photogenic sites of Gásadalur and the dramatic Vestmanna cliffs.

Volcanic Vistas
Your cruise to Iceland offers the opportunity to experience a multitude of outstanding and unique vistas, including geysers, waterfalls and glaciers, from both Bolette and when ashore. From Reyjavik, join us on a tour to the Golden Circle and explore the magnificent Thingveller National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area and Gullfoss Waterfall. You are also perfectly placed to enjoy a visit to Raufarholshellir Cave, a spectacular lava tunnel formed thousands of years ago; or marvel at the sheer power of Strokkur geyser. Bolette will also journey into the calm waters of Seydisfjordur, Isafjordur and Eyjafjordur. You'll be joined on board by geologist Glynda Easterbrook, who will speak about some of the natural landmarks you will see on this cruise.

Icelandic folklore tells rich tales of trolls and elves over many centuries, which are deeply rooted in the country's culture, and are revered still to this day by showing equal respect for the nature and supernatural of local landscapes. Embrace the culture of wellness here by relaxing in the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon or Myvatn Natural Baths; or choose to hike or ride across volcanic terrain on horseback. Reykjavik local, Sólveig Dagmar Þórisdóttir, will be on board to speak to you about the culture and way of life in Iceland.
Whales, Dolphins & Seabirds
Your Bolette cruise has been timed to provide you with the best possible chance of seeing marine life such as humpback and minke whales, and white-beaked dolphins who come here to feed in the nutrient-rich waters; and puffins who come here to breed in the summer months. Join us on a tour from Akureyri to see these magnificent creatures with a marine biologist, who will share their extensive knowledge of whales with you. Wildlife charity ORCA will join you on board, and will be out on deck helping you find ocean wildlife and seabirds.

Painter, photographer, and Reykjavík local, Sólveig Dagmar Þórisdóttir, will be joining us on board to speak about Iceland’s culture and way of life from a local’s perspective.

Disembarking when your ship's at anchor is a very different experience to when it's docked portside. Getting ashore in this instance often involves the use of the ship's tender, which is accessed via the steps of a secure gangway.
