On this fjordland exploration, you’ll not only see famous waterways and wonders, but also discover hidden gems and learn of their local folklore and culture.[ReadMoreMob] With this in mind, the visits to Molde and Skjolden are bound to be highlights of your adventure; from Skjolden, you could tour to visit the home of the giants at Jutenheimen, while Molde is your gateway to the Trollveggan ‘Troll Wall’ and Trollstigen ‘Troll Road, surrounded by beautiful mountainous scenery.

Braemar’s smaller size makes it possible to enjoy a rare visit to Kalvag, with its beautifully preserved fishing village, for a glimpse of life in the fjords. There’s also a memorable visit to Olden; go in search of magnificent glacier arms on tour, or perhaps ride the Loen Skylift to the peak of Mount Hoven for unforgettable fjordland views. Meanwhile, from Molde, you could opt for a tour to ride the scenic Rauma Railway, or explore the wild Atlantic Road. Experience scenic fjord cruising in typical Fred. Olsen style too; see the imposing Hornelen sea cliff, and the rugged landscapes of Nordfjord, Sognefjord, Fjaerlandsfjord and Eresfjord to name just a few.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

1. WE ARE PROUD TO SAIL OUR OWN COURSE

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

2. SMALLER IS BETTER

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

3. HAND-CRAFTED, NOT MASS PRODUCED

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
