This discovery of German waterways and cities is unique; a sailing expertly planned and specially timed to coincide with the world’s largest sailing event.[ReadMoreMob] In between two memorable journeys along the beautiful Kiel Canal, only navigable by smaller ships such as Braemar, you visit Kiel for a chance enjoy all the excitement, charm and tradition of the Kieler Woche extravaganza. You’ll get to enjoy a relaxing amble around the harbour, where historic tall ships will be docked and proudly on show, and experience the authentic German festivity of the occasion.

Elsewhere in Germany, you’ll have ample time in Hamburg, to visit attractions such as the Rathaus, towering St Nikolai Church and Miniatur Wunderland, and take a boat tour of Alster Lake, while there’s a day in Bremen too. Braemar docks in the heart of Bremen, so you can step ashore and seek out sights including the UNESCO-listed Market Square, 15th century town hall and medieval Schnoor district with ease. Make the most of your smaller ship’s berth, close to the promenade, pubs and cafés, in Travemünde – which is also your starting point for tours to UNESCO-listed Lübeck – and in Flensburg, where a collection of architectural, cultural and historical delights await.

Bringing the world closer

Our size advantage means we can take you to places that some of the larger cruise vessels simply can’t. We dock close to the heart of some of the world’s most beautiful cities and can take you on scenic cruising adventures showcasing inspirational landscapes. Our itineraries are expertly crafted to make the most of this advantage.

Smaller but spacious

Aboard our smaller, friendlier ships you'll find there's plenty of room to stretch out by the pool, enjoy a drink and great conversation with like-minded guests, and make the most of your time away. Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.

Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday. In fact, 97% of guests rated Fred. Olsen’s friendly, attentive staff ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.
