Featuring hours of scenic cruising along picturesque waterways; calls into beautiful and historic cities; and an opportunity to experience the excitement of the world’s largest sailing extravaganza, this very special nine night German jaunt aboard Boudicca will be unforgettable from beginning to end.

A sailing of the impressive Kiel Canal – only navigable by smaller ships such as those in the Fred. Olsen fleet – ensures a memorable start to your time in Germany as you head for Kiel. Your call into this maritime city is perfectly timed to coincide with the annual Kieler Woche (Kiel Week) sailing festival, so you can join the crowds at the historic harbour and soak up the atmosphere as you watch the spectacular tall ship parade. With chances to enjoy the fantastic entertainment and open-air concerts, and indulge yourself with traditional German food and drink too, this is an experience that’s not to be missed. After savouring all the fun and festivity in Kiel you’ll continue onwards to Travemünde, starting point for boat tours to UNESCO-listed Lübeck. Take the short journey to this historic city – once a leading member of the Hanseatic League – and you won’t be disappointed by the superb architecture on display and delicious beer available in the friendly pubs. [ReadMore]

From Travemünde you’ll embark on a relaxing return journey along the Kiel Canal, before Boudicca sails into the heart of Hamburg. In this historic city you'll have time to discover landmarks such as the towering neo-Renaissance style Rathaus and St Michael’s Church; wander the pretty squares; and sample the vibrant atmosphere of the bustling HafenCity district. There’s a chance to see the city’s illuminated skyline from a different perspective during a boat ride on the Alster Lake in the evening too. Finally, after scenic cruising through gorgeous German countryside as your ship navigates the Elbe and Weser Rivers, you’ll visit Bremen. Take time to explore the city at your leisure and you'll discover highlights such as the UNESCO-listed Market Square, the 15th century Town Hall and the contrasting sights of the medieval Schnoor and modern Überseestadt districts.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
