Making full use of her smaller size, Braemar takes you on a discovery of meandering waterways, gorgeous landscapes and fascinating, culture-rich riverside cities.[ReadMoreMob] Sailing the Loire, you’ll experience serene scenic cruising passing by the river’s tree-lined banks en route to Nantes, gateway to famous vineyards sprawled across the picturesque Loire Valley. Your smaller ship docks in the centre of Nantes, so attractions such as Château des ducs de Bretagne and Cathédrale Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul – are also easily uncovered just a gentle walk from your ship’s gangway too.

Picture-perfect scenes of lush-green countryside fronted by quaint communes come into view during a gentle journey along the Seine. Meanwhile, Rouen awaits your exploration on the banks of the river; this enchanting city alive with French history and wandering the charming streets amongst its highlights, such as the gothic cathedral and medieval architecture of Place du Vieux-Marché, is like walking back through centuries. Rouen is also close enough to Paris for tours to see the capital’s iconic landmarks. At the mouth of the river, the cobbled streets and historic Vieux Bassin of Honfleur are also yours to explore.

Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

In recent years, we have seen a new era emerging in cruising.

There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity. But this is not for us. Find out more

We are free to do things a different way because we are family-run. Of course some people enjoy the bigger, busier cruises, but it is not for everyone, and it is not for us. We prefer to do things, 'The Olsen Way'.

We have fewer guests, so the atmosphere on board our ships is always warm and civilised. Our smaller ships allow us to visit the more interesting places that the world has to offer.

We pride ourselves on putting our all into the Fred. Olsen cruise experience. Our itineraries are created from scratch every year, our service is genuinely personal and each and every area of our ships is designed by hand.
