Visit three different European countries; enjoy overnight stays in a trio of engrossing cities; and experience scenic cruising of beautiful waterways, all on one incredible nine-night sailing. Packed with highlights throughout, this cruise offers plenty of rewards, during time spent on board Braemar and ashore, thanks to your smaller-sized ship’s ability to bring you closer to the attractions of each destination.

Your triple-city discovery will take you to Belgium and elegant Antwerp. [ReadMoreMob] Braemar will navigate the Western Scheldt River en route, passing picturesque countryside scenes, before docking a short distance from the centre of Belgium’s second city. Many of Antwerp’s most prized possessions will be within reach; the intricate guildhouses of Grote Markt, the mighty Cathedral of our Lady and the Royal Museum of Fine Arts are just a few of the highlights. [ReadMoreDesk]Your overnight stay here affords you time to see the sights at your leisure, explore the legendary Diamond District, and sample authentic Belgian chocolates too. In Spain, the scenic city of Santander awaits. The capital of the gorgeous Cantabria region is situated amongst the unspoilt coastline of one of the world’s prettiest bays, and boasts stunning landscapes, inviting beaches and an impressive mix of architecture. Whether you choose to stay in Santander during your extended stop, or opt to join tours to visit the medieval towns of Santillana del Mar and Comillas; discover the breathtaking Picos Mountains; or unearth the Altamira Cave paintings, your time on the Spanish north coast won’t disappoint.

Bringing a French flavour to your cruise is Bordeaux, where Braemar will once again dock overnight closer to the centre – much of which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site – to tempt you into a rewarding exploration of one of Europe’s greatest cities. The length of the gangway is all that divides you from a collection of famous landmarks and impressive architectural wonders, such as Calihau Gate, the Cathédrale Saint-André, the Grand Théâtre and Place de La Bourse. Simply step ashore and explore to reveal Bordeaux’s many treasures at your own pace. If you’ve a penchant for fine wines, you won’t want to miss the chance to visit the Cité du Vin Museum, which offers an authentic insight into French wine culture, as well as indulgent tasting sessions. For the perfect conclusion to your adventure, you’ll depart Bordeaux via the Gironde and Garonne rivers and experience hours of memorable scenic cruising before heading home.

Refurbished in 2017, elegant Braemar is the shortest of Fred. Olsen's four smaller, friendly ocean-going cruise ships, with dimensions perfect for cruising picturesque, size-restricted rivers and docking in the heart of fascinating towns and cities.

Like the rest of the fleet, Braemar assumes the welcoming feel and intimacy of a country house hotel, and a sense of timeless style and elegance flows through the ship's comfortable bars and lounges, restaurants and spacious accommodation for up to 929 guests.

Real ships
We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
