Savour the seasonal sights, scents and sunshine of four glorious Macaronesian islands and celebrate the arrival of spring in style. In just 15 nights you’ll visit Madeira and the Canaries; and enjoy calls into vibrant mainland cities thrown in for good measure too.

Three sun-soaked Canary Islands feature on this springtime escape, each boasting spectacular landscapes, beautiful beaches, breathtaking natural wonders and a host of unforgettable experiences. In Gran Canaria, Las Palmas is your gateway to discovering the oasis-like rolling sand dunes of Maspalomas Beach – the perfect place to make the most of the island’s renowned year-round warmth – and the charming towns of Teror and Arucas. A full day in Tenerife could be spent marvelling at many of the island’s highlights, including the mysterious Pyramids of Güímar and mighty Mount Teide – one of the world’s highest volcanos – on exciting excursions from Santa Cruz. Alternatively you might prefer to enjoy a relaxing day in the island’s capital, taking in the array of museums, elegant parks and pretty squares. The ‘Pretty Island’ of La Palma is your final Canarian call. The entire island is an UNESCO-listed Biosphere Reserve and simply begs for your exploration. Chances to see the soaring San Antonio Volcano; explore the prehistoric forest of Los Tilos; or uncover the verdant craters of Caldera de Taburiente National Park are not to be missed. [ReadMore]

On the Portuguese ‘garden island’ of Madeira, your memorable overnight stay in Funchal is timed to coincide with the fabulous annual Flower Festival. Once ashore in the island’s capital you’ll be greeted by an infusion of vibrant colours and delicate floral scents – a real feast for your senses; and have the chance to capture the excitement of the floral parade. There will also be time to ride a cable car to the enchanting Monte Palace Tropical Garden; perhaps enjoy stunning Atlantic Ocean views at the Cabo Girao cliff; or visit the world-famous Reid’s Hotel for a sumptuous afternoon tea. Boudicca will also be your guide to discovering the delights of three fine mainland cities in Spain and Portugal. Your Madeiran and Canary Island adventures are sandwiched between calls into Vigo, where a short stay will afford time to explore the pretty old quarter and take in gorgeous Galician countryside; Lisbon, the attraction-packed Portuguese capital; and Leixões, your gateway to the UNESCO-listed historic heart of Oporto.

Real ships
We’re not interested in gimmicks like zip wires, climbing walls or celebrity chefs. We don’t have boastful megaships. We take immense pride in our fleet of smaller-scaled vessels that retain the style, ambience and understated quality of a country house hotel.  We ensure they remain contemporary too: from winter 2016 to spring 2018 the whole fleet underwent dry dock refits to further enhance the facilities for guests. With the fifth generation Fred. Olsen as Chairman and 170 years of seafaring heritage behind us, we believe we’ve found the perfect formula for you to get the best out of your holiday with us.

Smaller but spacious
A smaller ship doesn’t mean less space; far from it. Each room is comfortably sized, with all that you’ll need to enjoy your holiday. In fact, our rooms are comparable to those on some of the mammoth cruise ships. While our vessels are on a more accessible scale, you can have just as much private space.  With fewer people on board it’s easy to find a quiet spot to relax in peace with a drink or a good book. There’s room to stretch out by the pool and you can get ashore more quickly too. And when you’re ashore, you’re seeing the best of each port of call with hundreds – not thousands – of others, giving you a much more authentic experience.

Service with a smile
Each member of the Fred. Olsen team has been carefully selected for their warm and welcoming personalities. The quality of our people, supported by training and development, ensures they will give you a great holiday: in guest feedback our staff are always the most highly-rated aspect of the whole experience.
