With each destination specially selected for its links to famous food and drink, as well as their many cultural highlights, you’ll enjoy a taste of France and Spain at their most authentic. There’s ample time in Bordeaux, a city renowned for its delicious Medocs, Merlots and Saint Emilions, to visit Cité du Vin and immerse yourself in rich wine heritage; enjoy a glass or two at your pick of the stylish bars; or even tour to a small family-run vineyard nearby. Black Watch docks in the heart of the ‘Pearl of Aquitane’, so many other highlights – such as the spectacular Cathédrale Saint-André and historic Calihau Gate – are also easily uncovered just a short walk from your small ship’s gangway.[ReadMoreMob]

In Spain’s verdant northernmost regions, there are plenty of opportunities for full-flavoured discovery too. You could sample tempting tapas and Basque pintxos – a staple of the traditional local diet – in Getxo, or tour to visit the legendary vineyards of the Rioja wine region; and taste, compare, and learn about the history of various Asturian ciders in Avilés. Returning to France, there’s a visit to the beautiful Brittany coast and Saint Malo, gateway to the famed oyster farming commune of Cancale; before it’s on to England’s gorgeous Cornish coast and the charming maritime town of Falmouth.

Sailing with hundreds, not thousands, of others allows you to get ashore faster too, and make the most of each destination.
